Viper_Maniac
(I'm sorry if there is something already in place about this so I apologize in advance.) I'm a complete n00b to linux and I want to know what to do about getting a firewall in place. I'm using 9.2 and I dont know what to do about which firewall to use. It would be nice if there is something for linux thats similar to Zonealarm (which I use for windows right now). My connection is a DSL connection. TIA. Viper_Maniac
Thanks guys. Just one more question, is there anything else I should know or do in addition to setting up a firewall to protect myself? I'm quite worried about being hacked. bvc
no....no wories.....just a firewall/default setting, IMO. If you're really into security check out; http://www.nsa.gov/selinux/ http://www.nsa.gov/selinux/news.cfm google=SELinux/Mandrake http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=...in%C2%A0results SELinux is in the mdk 2.6 kernel though I believe you have to compile it. Anyone know?
