thebra
I have recentally just installed Mandrake 10. It is a dual boot with w2k. I am having problems with MDK locking up which appears to be random (when accessing cd-rom,playing video). I am not able to move the mouse and the hard drive light on my pc stays on, I have to power off. The only hardware I think might cause lock ups would be my video card, ATI Radeon 7500. Also when I tried to acces my cd-rom today no files would appear and I had to re-mount it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Ixthusdan
There is a function, used to be Supermount, and now it is called MagicDev, that would cause this sort of behaviour. By the way, mounting media is the standard in linux. I have not had a bad experience with MagicDev, but I turned Supermount off because of eradic behaviour.
