Just installed Mdk10 CE/2.6 Kernel on Athlon XP PC (based on m/b AMD761 chipset) with 512 MB RAM, successfully run update process, but have been unable to get second eth1 card working (both card are identical Realtec based Fast Ethernet PCI Card). eth1 is simply always fails to start no matter how I configure it through DrakConf. and do not depend if I have Ethernet cable plugged or unplugged. Here is tail from /var/log/messages after "service network restart" su37 ifplugd(eth0)[8144]: client: Determining IP information for eth0... done. su37 ifplugd(eth0)[8144]: Program executed successfully. su37 network: Bringing up interface eth0: succeeded su37 ifplugd(eth1)[8260]: ifplugd 0.21b initializing. su37 ifplugd(eth1)[8260]: Using interface eth1/00:30:4F:1B:26:CD with driver <8139too> (version: 0.9.27) su37 ifplugd(eth1)[8260]: Using detection mode: SIOCGMIIPHY su37 ifplugd(eth1)[8260]: Initialization complete, link beat not detected. su37 network: Bringing up interface eth1: failed Thanks in advance for any suggestion(s). Andrei (aka MacGuru) PS. Please note I had SuSE 9 installed here before, and everything was working properly. I had to switch from SuSE to Mdk because SuSE installation and configuration tool (YaST) is not GPL, and was prohibited from distributing on any media carreer, and therefore, cannot be shared on ISO image on my ftp.
