Lord Kenneth
I can't play it-- I get a segmentation fault (core dumped) error when I try to play. Any ideas?
liquidzoo
I assume you mean the Linux version of this game, right? You have to update it. Head over to the Loki website (I know they're dead, but the site isn't) http://www.lokigames.com and grab the update for sc3. There should be just an update file you can get, but if not; download and install the Loki updater and it will do it for you.
Lord Kenneth
Er, I get the one error if I don't update: When I do update, I get a sefault.
liquidzoo
Strange. Let me install it tonight and see if I get the same error. What WM/DE are you using? Also, what flavor of Linux/version are you using?
Lord Kenneth
I assume by WM/DE you're asking what Window Manager I use. I use GNOME 2.4. Distro is Mandrake 10 CE (actually, it's cooker). No idea why it's segfaulting. Quake III Arena works fine. NWN works fine. Even America's Army and UT2003 work great. liquidzoo
Ok, with the exception of Gnome, we're running the same distro (I run cooker as well), so it should be fairly easy to check. It will have to wait until I get home tonight, though, since I'm at work right now.
Qchem
This may be a glibc problem, of course it may also not be....... I seem to remember reading something about newer versions of glibc breaking many of the Loki games so I thought I'd mention it.
