kclau Posted March 27, 2004 Report Share Posted March 27, 2004 My i810 work with OSS in 10.0 but its sound seems improper and poor. Especially XMMS, it plays few seconds then stops and disappears. Thus, I want to try ALSA. I change the driver from "i810_audio" to "snd-intel8x0" in HardDrake (I think i810_audio is for OSS and snd-intel8x0 is for ALSA) then reboot. When the ALSA driver is activated in startup, it produces a loud non-stop "beep" with high freq. "v" sound. Do someone have the same problem as me? How to solve? Any suggestion will be appreciated.
