mscdex
Ok, here's what happens. I boot up to CD2 or a disk with CD1 in the drive, doesn't matter, and i get to the screen where it has the blue bar at the top saying mandrake linux on it, and the blue popup comes up saying it's trying to read a cdrom disc and in parenthesis is my cdrom drive. But about 5-10 seconds after that blue popup disappears, it sits there at that blank black screen with the blue bar, and then finally it comes up saying in regular text "sending termination signals ... done" and a couple of other things you usually see when you issue a reboot in linux, then it reboots. What is going on? I downloaded and burned all 3 cds that were on one of the Mandrake Linux ftps. I'm about 90% sure it is the Community version, whatever is the latest they have on the download page there. Any ideas? :( I even tried passing some arguments to the boot: prompt, namely: linux apci=off noapci nodma vga=normal And still nothing. Ixthusdan
Run md5sum before burning? Using good media?
