kungfooya
Hey all, I'm having a problem with installing the new gimp 2.0. I have installed atk-1.2.4, glib-2.2.0, pango-1.2.5, but cannot get gtk+-2.2.0 to go. Here is the error I get: checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... (cached) yes checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config checking for glib-2.0 >= 2.1.4 atk >= 1.0.1 pango >= 1.0.1... Package atk was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `atk.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'atk' found configure: error: Library requirements (glib-2.0 >= 2.1.4 atk >= 1.0.1 pango >= 1.0.1) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them. [root@localhost gtk+-2.2.0]# How do I correct this? Thanks for any advice! Jason
Qchem
You need the package atk installed, which is an Accessibility Toolkit. You should be able to find it wherever you got the GTK sources. BTW, is there any reason your not using GTK 2.4?
kungfooya
Ok....I have all the most current packages and have them installed. At least I think so, I didn't get any errors. Now when I try to install gtk+-2.4.0 I get the exact same error message. If atk is installed, why is this still happening? Thanks again! checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... (cached) yes checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config checking for glib-2.0 >= 2.4.0 atk >= 1.0.1 pango >= 1.4.0... Requested 'glib-2.0 >= 2.4.0' but version of GLib is 2.2.3 configure: error: Library requirements (glib-2.0 >= 2.4.0 atk >= 1.0.1 pango >= 1.4.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.
