bill50
I'm using the Mandrake Users.org docs on configuring my internet connection on my Mac PowerBook G3 New World 1999 Lombard laptop. I'm using emacs to write the files. After I complete the file entries, I use "pppd call [isp name]" to make a connection as per the doc, but it fails. The error logs I generated with "less /var/log/messages" shows everything ok until pppd goes to connect with my isp phone number. At that point it fails and i get the error message "connect script failed". I've checked the files I wrote and it seems ok. The docs suggest a ppp-rpm connect script found at "/usr/doc/ppp-2.4.1/scripts/ppp-on-dialer", but my Mandrake system says there is no such file or directory. How can I get that ppp-rpm connect script or any other that might work on my system. Bill
bvc
in a terminal do; which ifup-ppp0 use that, or use that as a guideline. Other than that, we'd need more details. Those are some old docs you're using, though most of it is still informative, things change.
