travis51
Hi, I have a small problem in that mandrake 9.2 won't load on to my computer. I have had in the past 9.1 on my xp2000 and it worked fine. On my new AMD board (Asus K8V) it won't load up as it stalls at second stage install. I was wanting to know if there is something i have to change on my motherboard to make it work ok? I am installing it in 32bit mode. Any suggestions will help a bunch. trav
mtweidmann
Hi, I'm running 9.2 for the AMD64, and while its not bad it does seem it was never quite finished (for instance the servers still call it RC2). Personnally I would suggest trying out he Beta of 10.0 which has just been released. Not getting passed the second stage could be caused by a few things. Trying hitting F1 on the frist screen of the installer, which should then give you more options. Try this post: http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtopic=12139 Finally if you run the 32bit version of Mandrake (i586) it should run perfectly, just like a quick XP. But you won't see any of the benefits of the 64bit architecture.
