Guest steeren
Hi ya, when I upgraded from mandrake 7.2 to 9 I found that the GNOME taskbar is up at the top of the desktop - you would think there would be an easy way to change this back to normal (on the bottom) If any one can let me know, I'd be greatful. p.s. theres no meantion of it in the configuration sections - every thing but a little button with "put taskbar in normal Position"!! fustrated Stee :(
beesea
i don't think you can move it. in gnome help it says that you can't move the menu panel. i'm no gnome expert, so i'm not sure if there's a workaround for this. also try asking your question on gnomesupport.com/forums
bvc
The only way is to first create a new one at the bottom, and delete the top. You can not delete your only one because you need to be able to rt click it to create the new.

bvc
You're welcome. Some of the default entries are lost (well at least one) like gnome-panel-screenshot, when you delete the top-default bar, but you can add theme to your menus with menudrake, and find them in /usr/bin/ with names like gnome-????-whatever, or run them from a terminal.
