When I go into "Network Servers" under gnome apps and try to browse the network I have to keep repeatedly using a user name and password. When I finally get to the file I want, I can never get in or it just sits there searching. Anyone have a clue on why this is?

Thanks ahead of time.

Is the target filesystem NTFS or Fat32? Have you tried mounting it manually?

# mount -t smbfs //ip-adress/share-name /mnt/target

Permissions on the mount target? How did you share it on the Windows box? Also checkout LinNetNeighbourhood as a browser/mounter.
