Mouse wheel in Mandrake 10 rc2

Has anyone got any idea how to get the mouse wheel working in Mandrake 10 rc2???

 

Everything else works fine, but I cannot get the mouse wheel to work.

Check in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 if you have the "z-axis" line in the Input Device section. It should look like this:

 

Section "InputDevice"
   Identifier "Mouse1"
   Driver "mouse"
   Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
   Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
   Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection

 

I don't know how your mouse is set up, so don't copy the other lines unless you think they fit your config

What I did to get it working was to throw away the ps2 adapter and hook the mouse up as a usb mouse, and now I have no problems.

Does it say rc2 in the installer at the top? Or do you mean beta 2?

Didn't think rc2 is out, if it is, where/how did you get it?

 

And in any case, if it is rc2, could you please file a bugreport on this?

try this:

 

in file: /etc/modules

 

add this:

 

mousedev

 

then restart comp. and go to drakexconf and set your mouse there...
