mdemers883
Well, I've converted from windoz to linux...with much help from you guys I must add. Now, seeing as I was a windoz user I was accustomed to doing my system maintenance using disk cleanup, defrag, adaware, spybot, etc... My question is, does linux have utilites like those, if so what are they? Or does linux not need utils like that? Thanks Mark
Ixthusdan
Pop up stuff is built into most linux browsers, including Konqueor. Just turn it on! Defrag is not needed in most linux file systems; it simply works better than fat or ntfs. As far as disk clean-up, there are some log files that can over run your drive if you allow them to, but again, you tell the system how to behave, and it does. Welcome to a real computer world, where you run your computer!!! :D
mdemers883
Thanks for the reply :D I was fairly positive that linux wouldn't need those utils but I figured I'd better be safe than sorry :) Mark
