RanchNachos
I'm using URPMI to try and install Kernel 2.6.2 and I get the following output. The following packages have bad signatures: kernel-2.6.2.1mdk-1-1mdk.i586.rpm Is that because I have a bad RPM, or a bad mirror? It didn't do this before until I changed the mirror because of missing dependency files. Now this mirror is giving me problems too. Using mdk 9.
Ixthusdan
A bad sig is a way of making sure you have an official rpm of somekind. But, if you are getting the rpm from a good mirror, don't worry about it. I have installed rpm's with bad sigs for years (mostly texstar stuff) with no problems. Mandrake has not updated the sig because it is not released generally yet. I would install it.
Lord Kenneth
Yeah, I get that a lot, too. I just ignore it. You'll find that many, many packages are reported to have bad signatures-- don't worry about it.
Qchem
Bad sigs and bad md5sums can also be caused by broken downloads, that said it sounds like the above replies are correct and as long as you trust the mirror it should be fine to install.
