kmc77
Help. Does anyone know how I can reset my resolution. I am a Linux newbie and just installed Mandrake 9.2 on my computer. I messed up and changed the resolution to one that my monitor does not support. Now, when I start up Linux, I boot straight to a terminal (?). I don't know what to do. Also, I created a restore CD before the problem, but don't know how to use it from the terminal (?) Please Help
bvc
Welcome! The easy way would be to run drakconf or XFdrake as root. Either login and su to root, or login as root and do; drakconf or XFdrake If those fail, for some weird reason, post back and we'll do it by editing the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file. kmc77
Used XFdrake to correct resolution, but Linux is still booting to terminal. Is this something unrelated?
kmc77
Strike that last question. I started GNOME using "startx GNOME" then went into boot controll center and realized that I had disabled the "launch GUI at system start" option. Everythings better now. I appreciate your help
