How can I reset resolution?

Help. Does anyone know how I can reset my resolution. I am a Linux newbie and just installed Mandrake 9.2 on my computer. I messed up and changed the resolution to one that my monitor does not support. Now, when I start up Linux, I boot straight to a terminal (?).

I don't know what to do.

Also, I created a restore CD before the problem, but don't know how to use it from the terminal (?)

Please Help

Welcome!

The easy way would be to run drakconf or XFdrake as root.

Either login and su to root, or login as root and do;

drakconf

or

XFdrake

If those fail, for some weird reason, post back and we'll do it by editing the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file.
