simon_c
Hi! This question has already been answered by a friend of mine <mtweidmann>, but I wanted to know what you guys think. In konqueror (file manager), you always have to single click on everything when in tree/list view. I prefer double clicking and in kdeaddons (3 i think) it changed to double click. Now, its back to single click. What's going on? Have they removed this doule click feature / will they be bringing it back? I know what you're going to say; go to control panel and change kde settings to “double click on icons”. This isn't the case – kde will double click on icons, but then single click on konqueror tree view. Why?!! Am i getting confused between konqueror and kde? I'd love to hear your opinions. All the best, Si :mdk: 9.2, kernel 2.
mtweidmann
Hi Si, Konqueror is part of the KDE suite, and I think that any settings you choose in the control centre apply to all KDE apps.
aRTee
Actually, tree view clicking would have no meaning then when single clicking. Meaning: a user action that really is something, would have no effect, thus confusing the user. Note that this is the same on for instance windows explorer; even if you have to double click files and dirs on the right hand side to open/execute, on the left hand side in the tree you only have to click once. What would you like the single click behaviour to be if you want to double click to go there? Again, there must be a system response, else double clicking would be a waste of 'input'...
