adyx
I am using MDK 9.2 on an old IBM. I want icons on desktop and the best solution I can find is Idesk. The problem is that I can't make Idesk start at login. I am using GDM and IceWM, i don't use autologin and the computer boot in X. I find something about ~/.Xclients but it didn't work.... ezroller
you probably need to add Idesk to your ".xinitrc" thats where startx or whatever you are using to start the x server looks for things like that. If you need help with syntax, let me know.
pmpatrick
If you look in /etc/X11/wmsession.d you'll dee a configuration file called "07IceWM". here's what mine looks like: NAME=IceWM ICON=icewm-wmsession.xpm EXEC=/usr/X11R6/bin/starticewm DESC=Lightweight desktop environment SCRIPT: exec /usr/X11R6/bin/starticewm Try editing it like so: NAME=IceWM ICON=icewm-wmsession.xpm EXEC=/usr/X11R6/bin/starticewm DESC=Lightweight desktop environment SCRIPT: exec <path to Idesk> & exec /usr/X11R6/bin/starticewm The "&" at the end is very important on the edit line. Guest johnKFT
Have you tried the ROX Filer and desktop? Works great with Icewm. http://rox.sourceforge.net/phpwiki/index.php/HomePage
