Guest x2x
Hey...I just installed Mandrake 9.1 for the second time. This time, I used the built-in partitioner. I don't know if it was me that messed something up, but when I try booting Windows XP Home Edition, it says that a file named hal.dll [or something like that] in /system32/ is either corrupted or missing. It says under, it must be re-installed. I have about 15 gigs of anime/manga stuff that I don't want to lose, plus a bunch of tools that has taken years to find, so I really really want to avoid reinstalling XP. If you have any ideas how to get the hal.dll back, please notify me asap. E-mail: choc0pi@yahoo.com.
MottS
Hi x2x What about using the 'repair' option? Just boot the XP cd .. one of the first questions the installer ask you is INSTALL REPAIR .. something like that. You can do that with XP pro .. don't know with XP home but it worth the try ! Other than that .. boot Linux and save all your stuff on CDS and reinstall XP. MOttS
Guest x2x
Thanks. I'll try that, if I can find it. Otherwise, I don't have a burner on this computer.
