Guest chad
Hi all, I'm having some sound issues with my laptop and was wondering how I can disable the sound with Mandrake 9? I'm pretty sure it's just a sound driver issue but it's become very annoying (a lot of static from the speakers). I'm running Mandrake 9 with IceWM (and sometimes Gnome) as the windowmanager. Thanks for the help! Chad
bvc
The quickest/easiest way would be to # out the sound lines in /etc/modules.conf /etc/modules and make sure there's nothing for sound in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules You also might have to stop harddrake from running at boot in mcc (Mandrake Control Center)>System>Services.
