OS won't read ethernet card.

Recommended Posts

Guest Leo54

About a week and half ago. I installed Mandriva 2011 operating system

onto one of my hard drives. Everything went well, except for one thing.

The OS can't read the ethernet card (Netgear PCI Adaptor GA311).

Can I use the drivers' cd to correct this situation.

Or, do I need to start a terminal and input some code?

... and what would that code be?

Thank You,

Leo54

If the network card is not detected, there used to be a wrapper to allow native Windows drivers to be loaded and used under Linux. The software was called ndiswrapper. An alternative is to google for native Linux drivers,... and you should contact the manufacturer, and ask them to provide the driver for Linux!

Should work as it uses the Realtek 8069 module from what I know, this card has been about for a few years now. A post here recently mentioned this card.
