roland
Hello, Do you know a Web site mirroring software: a software to download a Web site so I can browse it without connection ? Thanks roland
Guest anon
Used to be just for windoze, but they have a Linux version now. http://www.httrack.com/page/2/en/index.html#beta

Guest anon
Another one: wget --mirror http://the.site.I.want How can you control the level of depth of the website your after with that command aru?? Won't it just go from link to link, and i guess in theory mirror the entire www? I have used HTTRACK myself, and i know that if don't set the level or depth of the web site im after, it starts going "off site" and collecting other web sites also. Can that be controlled with wget --mirror?
paul
by default wget -m doesn't leave the current domain ... but you can also use -l ... recursion depth also -k convert links so they work locally also -np ..... no parent is usefull if you want to mirror http://icculus.org/~somename but not http://icculus.org/~some_other_name
aru
As paul said you can have a lot of control over wget. The -m (or --mirror) flag is just an equivalent to "-r -N -l inf -nr", so changing those options (and more) you can control what are you mirrowing. Much more on 'man wget' :deal:
