arthurking
I'm searching for the location of config files, mainly the address data, for Kaddressbook. I thought that it was in /home/<me>/.kde/share/apps/kab . But I can't find it there. ...../kab doesn't exist. I had a 'shortage of space' problem. I re-installed on a new HDD (hda). I installed the old drive as slave (now hdb), mounted this at /old, and I have accessed all my configs and data, etc. I just can't find my add~book data as I added some addresses b4 I upgraded the HDD, thinking I'll retieve it off the old drive. thanks. paleo
the addresses should be in the directory ~/.kde/share/apps/kabc/ (notice that it's kabc and not kab). The addresses are in the file std.vcf in that folder. There is also ~/.kde/share/congif/kaddressbookrc which stores the config of the kaddressbook
arthurking
thanks. I saw that .vcf file, but when I hover the mouse over the file, the file type explanation said 'Electronic Buisness Card'. So I ignored that thanks again.
