matt_thomas
Upgraded to X 4.3, then my cable internet connection stopped working. It would not pull the IP from the modem, and wouldn't change the connection from being 'lan' I reinstalled twice, with no success... What can I do? When I run the wizard, I select cable, and it asks if I'd like to apply the changes. I say yes, and it reverts back to lan... I tried uninstalling the nic, and reinstalling it, then entering interactive setup on boot, and tried to se it up from there, no luck. The way I originally set it up, I installed with an ISA modem, and used it until I got cable. I then installed the nic in my system, ran the config tool during interactive setup, and when the gui came up, everything worked great.. Any suggestions? Pzatch
Is the moden out of the box? If its onboard make sure its turned off in the bios first.
iphitus
Ok, open a command line as root and enter: urpmi dhcpcd dhcpcd That should get you online. If you cant urpmi dhcpcd in any way, do this: Logout Ctrl-Alt-F1 Login as root ifdown eth0 dhclient Ctrl-Alt-F7 Ctrl-Alt-Backspace Login That should get you internet for now. Another problem I have when swapping modems between ocmputers is that I have to swap it, then turn off the power to the modem, turn it on again then it works.
