menendez
Hi, I have had an unexpecting result attempting to upgrade from 2010 to 2010.1 (KDE versions) in this fashion: 1) removed 2010.0 media sources from MCC 2) added 2010.1 media sources via Easy URPMI 3) used the terminal command: urpmi --auto-update 4) restart The boot menu listed Mandriva 2010 Spring which was a great sign. However, it appears KDE did not fully upgrade. There no icons in the menu. There is no "Configure your Desktop" option anywhere. Right click on desktop does nothing. The task bar and menu look very minimalistic. Here is picture of the desktop: http://s36.photobucket.com/albums/e9/JKMenendez/?action=view¤t=snapshot2.png Any suggestions? Thank You in advance, Jose
willie
That isn't KDE , if you see the inlogscreen you can choose what desktopmanager you will start. I believe it's the icon on the right bottom.
jkerr82508
Install task-kde4. If it says it's already installed, uninstall and re-install it. Be sure to select kde at the login screen. Jim
menendez
Somehow KDE got dropped during the upgrade. Installing task-kde4 and all the associated dependent rpms solved the problem. Thank you for the help. :) Jose
