Lord Deathscythe
Hi, I've been trying to get away from Microsoft for a while, but I always end up coming back to it because of some reason or another. Now I'm wanting to take it out completely. How do I do this on my laptop. It's a GATEWAY1400 SOLO with a P3 chip in it. Thoughts? Tips? Exorsism Rights? DragonMage
I don't know the spec of your gateway solo 1400, but there are a few success stories with gateway solo 1450 (which I think should be similar to your solo 1400) Here is a link http://www.tuxmobil.org/gateway.html From the look of it, it seems that the only problematic part is the modem. Since the modem is conexant chipset, you can check http://www.linuxant.com for the driver. Good luck
Lord Deathscythe
New question. I have a PCMCIA card for wireless networking for my laptop. How can I go about using the Wireless connection in linux?

Lord Deathscythe
I need help on the PCMCIA slot of my laptop. It will only recognize one of the slots, and it is not the slot that has the card in it. If anyone has seen the card slots on this model you know the top one is pretty much useless. I need help getting it to recognize both so I can set up the PC cards I have for SD, Flash, and the Wireless lan card.
