At startup i get the message: Checking for new hardware FAILED I have a removeable Dell CDRW/DVD Combo and it has always worked fine in Man 9.1, it was detected fine when i first installed and has worked perfectly until now. I have started and restart with the drive out then back in to initialise the new hardware process but when it finishes configuring i still get FAILED and cannot access /mnt/cdrom and get an input/output error (in a terminal) or device removed (in konqueror) really frustrating!
