  2. Cache = 256 KB

    Swap = 1/494 MB

    Any tip for an adjust to make it quick respond? Since most application respond real damn slow when I click to executable it?

    :unsure:

    I might added: when I typed hdparm /dev/hdx it showed;

    /dev/hdx:

    multcount = 8 (on)

    IO_support = 1 (32-bit)

    unmaskirq = 1 (on)

    using_dma = 1 (on)

    keepsettings = 0 (off)

    readonly = 0 (off)

    readahead = 256 (on)

    geometry = 65535/16/63, sectors = 12273597, start = 63

  3. urpmi mplayer

    will actually only give you the command line player - you have to also do:

    urpmi mplayer-gui

    and then you will get the mplayer entry in your menu.

    Oh, make sure your sources are setup properly, etc...

    ftp://ftp.free.fr/pub/Distributions_Linux...6.7plf.i586.rpm

    installing /var/cache/urpmi/rpms/mplayer-gui-1.0-0.pre6.7plf.i586.rpm

    Preparing... ##################################################

    1:mplayer-gui ##################################################

    look like, nothing happened?? I will try to restart it...

  4. Looking at the error messages in your post, you didn't download anything. It all came from your CDs apart from the last file. Try going into mandrake control centre>>>>Media manager and uncheck your CDs. Then run urpmi mplayer

    I have uncheck CDs from MCC. and urpmi mplayer, but it said it already installed... I am thinking if I should uninstall mplayer and then reinstall with three uncheck from CDs to have download whole from urpmi?

    :unsure:

  5. Mind to assist my problem again? Since I have update all such as plf, non-plf, config, and all.

    I typed urpmi mplayer and download everything itself then it appeared:

    The following packages have bad signatures:

    /mnt/cdrom/media/main/fribidi-0.10.4-4mdk.i586.rpm: Invalid Key ID ((sha1) dsa sha1 md5 gpg GPG#26752624 OK)

    /mnt/cdrom/media/main/libfribidi0-0.10.4-4mdk.i586.rpm: Invalid Key ID ((sha1) dsa sha1 md5 gpg GPG#26752624 OK)

    /mnt/cdrom/media/main/liblirc0-0.6.6-7mdk.i586.rpm: Invalid Key ID ((sha1) dsa sha1 md5 gpg GPG#26752624 OK)

    /var/cache/urpmi/rpms/liblzo1-1.08-4mdk.i586.rpm: Invalid Key ID ((sha1) dsa sha1 md5 gpg GPG#26752624 OK)

    Do you want to continue installation ? (y/N)

    I clicked Y to continue... then seems success with downloaded.... But I can't find executable mplayer? Does these bad signatures that cause it?

    Also, I find located mplayer in /usr/bin/mplayer and try to command run it, but nothing happened? :unsure:

  6. I've been using Acrobat Reader that I downloaded from adobe website and it seems fine to me.. the documents only goes black when you minimize the window, but generally, I find it ok.... have you tried to install the reader from Adobe.com?

    I am trying to avoid download from website, only from Urpmi which make my job easier, but if that is successful for you, I am thinking of try it too..

  7. Something interested you have customized. I will compare those later soon.... this gives me a little perplexed.... I am new with Linux and about to throw all windows out soon... But I think this will give me benefits later on.

    Hope you mind if I save this on my file and compare it later.... Thanks again...

    :thanks:

  8. I was wondering if I should uninstall the first Acrobat Reader before I start install the new one? Or just install and overwrite the current Acrobat Reader??

    BTW, how is the output? Did it look better from Bittorrent?? Let me know... I have not install yet...

    David

  9. I tried to download from KDS.Look... and it needs to do with CVS which I am not sure what it is?? so I guess I will go and download from RPMDrake but I see:

    Name: 3ddesktop

    Version: 0.2.7-0.cvs20040615.1mdk

    Size: 361 KB

    Summary: OpenGL virtual desktop switcher

    Description: 3d Destkop is an OpenGL program for switching virtual desktops in a seamless 3-dimensional manner. The current desktop is mapped into a 3D space where you may choose other screens. When activated the current desktop appears to zoom out into the 3D view. Several different visualization modes are available. You might want to add a keybinding in your window manager for this one.

    Is this right one? :unsure:

  10. I found it after it disappeared when rename it to .xplanet from "Open Location". I assume it is supposed to become "invisible" after rename it?

    I went to console and typed: perl download_clouds.pl, but it said:

    Can't open perl script "download_clouds.pl": No such file or directory.

    Look like I didn't success download script? :help:

  11. I was surprised to see what kind of graphic I get from Acrobat Reader?? At first, I tried to get from MCC to install it... but they doesn't have it, I also, urpmi acrobat reader, but it said perl-patchreader or qfaxreader.

    So, I decided to find RPM from website and found acroread-5.0.10.2.norlug, and installed it. But wow the graphic must be bad... it look like only black and white color and look like 1700's??

    Is that supposed to be?? :unsure:

  12. Many thanks for better feedback, and I am thinking of using either one for now untila month then switch to other and compare to see for myself?? However, I know Azureus that I can find source, but Bittorando, I download from contrib, but it said not found??

    Thanks again! :thanks:

  13. Which would you think better Azureus or BitTorando?? Since I am unable to find RPM or source for BitTorando on Mandrake 10.1.... Azureus we have one... But have not install either yet....

    I tried Bittorrent but I didn't make it... So, i prefer to get download from RPMDrake...
