  1. i get 1 hit if i do that. /usr/share/apps/kappfinder/apps/Internet/mozilla-firefox.desktop but i do not see ANYTHING new on my desktop or in internet ==> webbrowsers or anywhere else
  2. cant find mozilla-firefox anywhere :(
  3. That's because the Firefox executable is actually /usr/bin/mozilla-firefox. Try that. As far as I know, there is no Mandrake rpm of the latest version of Firefox (1.0.2) other than the one in the just-released-to-Club-members-only Mandriva Limted Edition. For now, the easiest way I know to get a Firefox 1.0.2 rpm is go to RPMfind-Speakeasy at: http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/ Download and save the RPM: firefox-1.0.2-3.i386.rpm (which is actually for Fedora Core3). yes there is... look here GREAT site http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/11/vendor/1556
  4. i tried again to upgrade to mozilla 1.7.6 when i install the RPM it asks if i want to install it but it wont install i tried to install the mozilla 1.7.3-1 version (also RPM) same thing as above if i check my version it still says 1.7.2 also i tried to install firefox the installation looks ok. but i cant start it i tried make an launcher and open /usr/bin/firefox but nothing happens i tried to run an application and typed firefox nothing happens..
  5. i installed an RPM. but it won load pages. how do i install the non rpm version ?
  6. Hi all, i have mandrake 10.1 installed with all updates. i noticed that there never was a mozilla update and i wanted to try 1.7.6 because 1.7.2 gave trouble with sites where you can do payments and internet banking. so i downloaded the 1.7.6 RPM from penquin libaration front. (great site) though the installation was succesfull i could not load a single page with it. so i uninstalled it and installed back to 1.7.2 RPM from the same site everything is now back, WTF i want the newest version
  7. i saw a tab in properties and it says: only directories in your home can be shared maybe thats the problem???
  8. i removed the USB drive and removed the first device the a reboot. now it does not show my USB drive double, but root is still owner and i cant do shit with it (no write rights) i tried to open nautilus from SU in console and now i have the option to change owner and rights, but it will not change... if i want to give write rights, i click on it and the box is marked but it immediatly unmarks if i want to change file owner to my name it says: the owner could not be changed if i want to change file group is says: the group could not be changed WTF
  9. security level is high. i try to delete the entry now
  10. I purchased a USB 2.0 USB drive (256Mb) and it all goes well it is detected as a removable drive. problem is that the owner is root. so i can write to it... i tried to change that with chown name removable then i get a error that it cant be changed. so i searched and tried some things. in /etc/fstab i changed the value umask value from 0022 to 000 but Mandrake changed it back & assed the same device again, result is that i see my removable drive twice i realy do not like that. another strage thing is that one device is set to my name and the other is set to root as owner. when i remove the USB drive: removable drive stays in my computer (this one is set to root) removable2 drive disapears (this one is set to my name) can someone help me so i see my drive only once and set it to my name??? i cant log in as root because i only can click my name when i login (i cant type root as a user or click on root to login) this is my /etc/fstab file system AMD 2500+ Nvidia 2 chipset 512Mb DDR ram (2x256Mb) 80 Gb SATA & a 80Gb ATA hdd Radeon 9700 VGA Mandrake 10.1 (with all updates installed) i use Gnome
