Well if they are not pulling a M$, then definatly a SUSE, but I think deep in their hearts, they want to be the M$ of Linux, but I agree that will never happen. I tried SUSE and didn't like it. Right now I am doing a little Libranet which I like. It has some really nice features, but Mandrake remains my primary and trusted distro!!!!

I agree johnnyv. My roommate has windows xp and has an amd athlon 1.2 ghz and my pc running MDK 9.0 with a 500 mgz Celeron is faster, a lot faster then his. :P

This is bad. Very bad. Sounds a little like M$ don't you think???

I've heard no problems with a Sony Clie. Sync away! :)

There is also a new set of Mac OSX icons you can install! Looks awsome!

LOL, poor Tux.

Me neither. It's working fine for me so far, though I will say in RC1, supermount was flakey.

I'm thinking one iso would take days. It wouldn't be worth the time. It would just take too long. You would be better off either having someone with broadband to download them for you or buy the cd's.

Works perfectly for me to through usb! I just had to point gnome pilot to the location of the cradle and vroom!

First I would try to see if you already have it in the distro, it's part of a gcc compiler. If you don't have it, then try this link and you'll find it there, but it's for solaris so I don't know how well that will work.

As for installing the new blackbox rpms, you don't need to uninstall the old version first. Just:
su to root
rpm -Uvh blackbox.rpm
This will simply upgrade it. Good luck.

I chose to install via the upgrade option from MDK 9.0 RC1 to Dolphine and no problems.

Yet another reason I'm staying away from Red Hat...

I tried SUSE 8.0. I found it slow and buggy. Some of the applications caused the xserver to crash, but they have one feature which is really nice and that's YAST. Very nice hardware recognition and software installer. The look of SUSE I just didn't like. I don't know what it stands for. Maybe it's really not an acronym for something.
