Ok, thanks, but more.... I have already used dyndns services, but with direct connection to Internet. I wanted to know is there is problems with?: Internet---(dynip)ADSL-router(dhcp or static ip)-------Server With ADSL-PCI in server card it's ok, but is there prob with in this case 4 port router?

Has anybody got working DynamicDNS behind ADSL router & how? I would like put a http server & host+domainname from dyndns.org by using ez-ipupdate or other.

Same reason, other modem is faster. I found already that it is impossible to force irqs for those pcis. I don't want DSL because i'm not too much time on one place & my economy is down just now, perhaps if I sell two winmodems & buy one external, but almost no one wants a modem here anymore. GPRS would be interesting , but slower, the line cheap the phone expensive & donnou if it is easy to config for Linux.

How I can exclude my winmodem so that Linux does not see it . I found that My LM cannot handle two winmodems. I dont want remove them (dual boot). So , like in windows; not included to this hardw... I can see it reserving irq on /proc/pci, but its useless. I think that these modems are conflicting with each other & perhaps with videocard (cannot start X with two pci-modems). O r everything is mystery.

Well, it's for ttySHCF0 <> /dev/modem. Conexant winmodem which already worked well. The next day things just didn't get loaded anymore. Hmmm urpmi, no I have only this modem & difficult to update devfs. I donnou how thabout this devfs. I read that it can mess insmods. But things gotted messed before putting devfs=unmount. Irritating if it is devfs, diffcult to update anything.

I reinstalled LM81 ( SGI XFS filesystem). I have used it almost an year almost without problems, but now everything sucks & falls. I have two modems connected to my machine. Can this mess all? Can one driver ruin the whole system? I have put devfs=nomount for Devfs & nobiospnp I need also in lilo. Devfsdaemon still starts running, can this suck all. Yesterday everything worked, but when I booted again today everything falls. It started with "cannot query modem" lsmod shows module hcfpciserial (initializing). Does this mean that devfs ruins installing the module well & it doesn't get loaded? I tried to help with booting few times & the LM starts to complain about missing files & gives unable to handle kernel paging things... 00000034111 I have been using LM 7.1 7.2 & 8.1 still Win98 needed.

My LM81 suddenly started to complain about missing files. Ive been using 2ext filesystem. I have tried to repair, but no success. I haven't got any power down failures. Do I have viruses or why this is possible when I haven't done anything especial? It complains about cannot lock /tmp/.X9-lock file when starting x, cannot find default fonts, cannot find apache files etc. I have back-ups & i'm think to move sgi-xfs what I've been using on some machines.

I like Qmail most it's the easiest to install & I think the most secure. With Mandrakes I think there's still Sendmail almost ready & it's easy to configure with linuxconf & graphix if you don,t know a lot of mail & servers & console. But Sendmail is difficult to conf on console.

Well, LM 8.1 does not allow install to ~80MB HD. I tried with text expert mode.

:x I SAID NO GRAPHICS NO X ! Mandrake installation with PHP + APACHE & DNS server. Why to use X On a server? So perhaps I'm today gonna try to fit LM 8.1 with NO X & see if it fits on a 75MB Hard disk.? Or does it? (128MB memory, 750 Duron) :?:

Hi! How much for example LM 8.1 needs space from HD if I rip off all GUI things and so on? I need only Apache with PHP & DNS server. Is there hope with 75MB HD? It's hard to find small Linux with PHP...
