  1. I can properly find my first help post somewhere on the web. It was the first time I ever used linux and couldn't get my modem working. I was using Corel Linux at the time Corel linux was on the highest (but we all know how that story end). But at the forum I'd asked I didn't get any help and a month later I switched back to windoze. A sad story....I need a :beer:

  2. :woot: Thanks bvc :beer:

    What I did:

    cd /home/orion/.themes
    sudo cp -r  d3a /usr/share/themes
    sudo gedit /etc/gdm/gdm.conf

    Now I changed under [gui]

    GtkTheme=d3a

    GtkThemesToAllow=d3a

    I found out that instead of d3a /the theme name I could change it to 'all' so I can choose which theme to use, but the themes shall be be in the /usr/share/themes

  3. No, as I stated it's not a GDM theme, GDM is if you choose Graphical greeter. I'm talking about 'Standard Greeter'.

    In the standard greeter there's a window where you can choose login name. It's that window I wanna change. In that window there's a tab with diffrent options. One of the options are called 'Theme' which have the option theme 1. Human (an ubuntu theme)

    My thoughts one that is this window must be using GTK and/or Metacity theme, but how to change it???

  4. Hello there!

    I've been wrestling with a little annoying problem. I've choosed the 'standard greeter' in GDM instead of the grafical greeter.

    How do I change the standard greeter theme? (No not the GDM) I'm using D3a themes on my desktop and want my standard greeter to match it.

    Thanks

  5. Perhaps you need a break from the PC and do something else, it works for me when the temptation to install winbozo or playing around with it at my work (the perfect cure). Have you tried Ubuntu? It's also debian based and the ubuntu community is growing fast and there also helpful people there if you run into trouble plus some great guides on howto this and that.

    I've turned my computer into a huge multimedia machine, gaming machine, graphic making, e-mail, e-banking etc. etc. with help from ubuntu linux.
