In my opinion 2.8 is better anyway. The lack of menu editing kills 2.10 for me.

Make it in black instead, bvc

Boooo! Booooo! Get him off the stage!!! *Throws rotten tomatoes*
Gnome users are insecure. Deep down they know KDE is better. They just can bring themselves to admit it. That's why they throw rotten tomatoes instead.
:P
-
Try both and I'm sure you'll stay with KDE. :)

I'm a Gnome guy :) so I recommend Gnome. But to be truly I think you just have to "experiment" with diffrent desktops to see which one that ring a bell for you.

Have you tried with another color to see if it's looking better that way? Or perhaps using a third color?
-
Okay, thanks. Well I think I just wait until it's possible to do it in an easy way :)
-
Another question: How do I add the text (the name) of the application next to the icon in the drawer?
-
I don't quite understand how you got rid of the arrow of the drawer.
By the way I hope th people behind Gnome makes it possible to make own menues.
-
if the blue looks too dirty, it is because the color is not saturated enough. try to use a similar color code that has more saturation. (i know, those colours are hard to find, but they exist and will make the theme look much better).

Many thanks, bvc :)
Oh, the panel size I'm using is size 30 (standard is 25). I don't know what's happen to it. I reinstalled my OS and downloaded the d3a and it shows up like this. Never happen before with d3a...

There's something "wrong" with the blue color....I can't right put my fingers on what it is.
-
Greetings!
Is there an easy way to add custom menu(s) to the gnome Panel, like the 'Application', 'Places' and 'System' but where you can name your own and "fill" it with application shortcuts as you fit? If there aren't an easy way can anyone show me the hard way?
I was thinking making my gnome desktop a MacOS wannabe.

Maybe Ubuntu works too well for Geeks? It installs too easily, works too stabily and doesn't require enough attention for Geeks to feel clever using it.
Or am I smoking my socks?
Perhaps you're smoking to much socks :P .
I'm not a geek but know my ways around stuff, but why should geeks complain for something that works, if I havn't misunderstood the issue? Isn't that the point? If the so called geeks wants to fiddle with something and want to tweak and fix every day they should build up a distro of their own?
But then again some says ubuntus got some issues and other people say it's to easy and stable etc. confusing eh? So who's the geeks and who's the non-geeks and what do they complain about of the same distro?

Can you actually see any files on the CD? If so have to tried to copy all the CD to your hard-disc, I did that with Wow to get it installed.
Edit: Try to install other version of Cedega via P2P and see if it make any changes. Though it can be a Madriva problem though.
-
Did you try to change from win89 to winXP in the configuration box?
-
Something I'm working on just for fun.
The real size will be 1600x1200 when finished and it's ofcause made with Gimp ;)

:deal: ...though don't you think the idea of a game will vanish if cheating?

well, my box is the fastest and i run rawhide with gnome. My dad can also beat up all your dads...... :D
Heh, my 3 years old can beat your grandma! :P

Bloated or not, but KDE 3.4 is faster than Gnome on my pc. And on one my friend's too, he has an AMD K6 or smthing serie processor.
And at least KDE has options, not like Gnome. As I remember it resulted in a fiendish fan outcry to add an option in the last gnome to disable the new nautilus browsing.
Well, kde is also fast (a long time since I ever used it), but Gnome is astonishing faster on my PC. Diffrent PCs diffrent results! Diffrent distro diffrent results!
About the claim of gnome is less costumize, it's only a few things that KDE can which Gnome can't. But the prize is it's eating up the memory which don't think is worth it (to name one wallpaper shown on the pagers).
As I remember it resulted in a fiendish fan outcry to add an option in the last gnome to disable the new nautilus browsing.A KDE user shouldn't throw with rocks when they live in a glass-house. Every Desktops have their faults and missings.
