    Still no joy

No precompiled kernel interface found to match your kernel need to compile new interface.

    O>K>

Unable to determine kernel file name

I am beginning to feel MS will always rule the world if something that is simple in Windows is a pain in the A**E and loss of sleep in Linux :furious3:

Any further help would be great thanks i have not quite given up yet

  2. Thanks for that i am getting somewhere but not very far.

When i enter the chmod command it seems nothing happens the cursor just drops down aline is this correct?

When i then enter the ./NVIDIA-Linux etc

it starts to install in that it asks to accept l

Entering yes then tells me something about a problem with the kernel

I am still having problems with installing Nvidia drivers

    any further advice please

  4. I have downloaded the drivers via the link and followed the instructions.I installed the kernel then tryed to carry on but the downloaded file could not be found.Checking the file name i noticed it was different than the instructions 4496-pkg2 was in fact 5336-pkg1.But typing this in came up with the same result where am i going wrong

  5. I am running Mandrake 10 & Xp Pro from a boot loader

My original setup was the XP Pro using forceware drivers for an MSI motherboard and a MSI Graphics card with Nvidia chip sets.

What i would like to know is do i need to install Linux versions of these drivers on my Mandrake partition to take full advantage of the hardware, and will it in any way conflict with my XP setup

When i boot into Linux it goes into the cli and asks for name and password.I need to know if i can put a command in here to bring up my normal desktop and then if someone could tell me what i altered and how to put it back

I know before anyone comments READ INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE ACTION
