  1. Still no joy No precompiled kernel interface found to match your kernel need to compile new interface. O>K> Unable to determine kernel file name I am beginning to feel MS will always rule the world if something that is simple in Windows is a pain in the A**E and loss of sleep in Linux Any further help would be great thanks i have not quite given up yet :unsure:

  3. Thanks for that i am getting somewhere but not very far. When i enter the chmod command it seems nothing happens the cursor just drops down aline is this correct? When i then enter the ./NVIDIA-Linux etc it starts to install in that it asks to accept l Entering yes then tells me something about a problem with the kernel

I have downloaded the drivers via the link and followed the instructions.I installed the kernel then tryed to carry on but the downloaded file could not be found.Checking the file name i noticed it was different than the instructions 4496-pkg2 was in fact 5336-pkg1.But typing this in came up with the same result where am i going wrong
  6. The sound of the startup seems to crackle and the players i mentioned sometimes work o.k. but when i try to play another song for instance they just lock up
  7. my sound seems to work but not very well. Xmm crashs-es so a changed to Noatun but thats the same
  8. I am running Mandrake 10 & Xp Pro from a boot loader My original setup was the XP Pro using forceware drivers for an MSI motherboard and a MSI Graphics card with Nvidia chip sets. What i would like to know is do i need to install Linux versions of these drivers on my Mandrake partition to take full advantage of the hardware,and will it in any way conflict with my XP setup

  11. Please someone help i have made this same mistake twice now. Using Mandrake 10 and messing about with different things i have managed to lose my desktop.The last time i took the easy option and re installed but now i have things or did have things set up i don't want to do that again When i boot into Linux it goes into the cli and asks for name and password.I need to know if i can put a command in here to bring up my normal desktop and then if someone could tell me what i altered and how to put it back I know before anyone comments READ INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE ACTION but please help
  12. O.K. Sorted now installed How do i get it to run im getting this message The program name or command ut2003_demo cannot be found. Please correct the command or URL and try again

    No Permission

  14. Thank you so much Where will i find the info to learn how to install graphical in MCC, how to setup software sources, and how to install rpms with the command urpmi. p.s. I have only had this install for a few days and i am finding it difficult but very interesting finding my way around.Look forward to any further assist
