  1. Would care to explain me why having you a 32 bit machine why you add 64 bit urpmi MDE repositories? Yes, i have just uploaded some new packages.
  2. Inspite im answering to kde sos rpms (if you would know...), i prefer help on this matter, so just to clarify this an old reported kde problem, so if you jut dont select any option to arrange icons, icons will continue in the same place when you leave after logout, still you can click to grid icons but dont let that option activated else everytime you login you will get icons diferently and it will happen (after a good number of logins and considering the number of icons you have on your desktop), that will create a triangule of icons starting from the uper left corner. greetings,
  3. I have not "threatened" no one, but for what i see i just got attacked injustified and users that come here do pub and also do things that we mde developers ask to not do, these members havent done nothing wrong from what i have read from admin (tyme,Ixthusdan) posts, maybe its time for we stop using/putting topics/posts in www.mandrivausers.org
  4. Havent you read what i said? Re-read it and update mde media.
  5. stil not enough info since i still odnt know what were the packages installed, at least what where the kdebase packages installed with more importance for kdebase-kdm and kdebase-kdm-config-file (since i think at the time the package kdebase-kdm-config-file still existed) And what you mean with "but kdm would not show it..." did you logout and saw kdm? Try provide all info maybe when sometimes you can think that isnt necessary.
  6. Edited by Ixthusdan Well that cant be totally correct since if you did installed kdebase-kdm you would have all windows managers available to login, but still to remind that if you only do for example urpmi kdebase (and this considering you are upgrading from mandriva kde rpms, and also considering that you did used previous mde kde rpms, yes because now there isnt anymore the package kdebase-kdm-config-file since makes no sense to separate kdm files to another package), would not upgrade kdebase-kdm, but now all that is treated, but that are all if's since you have not provided sufficient info.
  7. He only rebuilds cooker rpms for mandriva 2006 and he doesnt improve neither fixes anything. Edited by Ixthusdan Would like to understand whats a lot easier since is still kde...ehehheh And im having a nice day thank you :) PS: i really advise you to go read hawkwind posts in mandriva club, to see what kind of person he is, and did you know that me and thac got banned just because other users talk well and defended our rpms in #mandriva, yes we didnt even opened our mouth about it.
  8. Still dont get what that have to do with us, ask to ktorrent developers, but you must provide more info to be able to people help you, meanwhile see config-log.
  9. So far you have the kde-i18n-pt thats is also Portuguese. We used to do the i18n packages but we stopped since its very time comsuming and so far there wasnt mmore any users complaining about, so we only do our languages, portuguese and sweden, but we can do if users do request. Ill ask Thac to also do for Portuguese Brasilian. By the way you instead get the packages by rpmdrake (that will erase packages after installed) you could instead use urpmi --noclean that will leave the packages in /var/cache/urpmi or first download the packages locally and add that local media as an local repository as i do.
  10. For what i see this is the first yo install mde rpms (i mean rpms :)) So the first steps about adding urpmi repositories i see that you alredy saw it in our mde webpage. If you would have read previous posts here in mandrivausers.org you would see all your doubts taken, anyway ill explain again. So in first i do recommend uninstall the kde you have installed since if changing versions will cause that some menus will appear twice (still didnt had the time to fix this), to do that you can use in kde the tool rpmdrake-remove. Then you run again rpmdrake and choose the mde kde rpms and install them, if you for some reason you logout of the kde session where from you uninstalled kde, you can still enter in icew or in gnome (case you have installed gnome) and run rpmdrake and install kde. I think that in icew you dont have menus to run rpmdrake by click, so you have to run a console/terminal and as root type rpmdrake. Or you can also (this considering you still are in the kde session where from you uninstalled kde), open a console/terminal, become root and then just type init 3 then press enter and you will enter in text mode, from there you can simple run as root: urpmi kdebase-suite and you will get the necessary kde packages installed to enter again in kde, then you can install the restant packages. After you have done urpmi kdebase-suite in init 3 mode, you can just reboot or jur type again as root: init 5 and you will return to the previous session. hope now you get it.
  11. you have instrutions in mde webpage, read it.
  12. I dont know how you have done things. In my system i have avahi and when avahi is installed it obsoletes mDNSResponder so i really dont make a clue how you still have mDNSResponder installed, still ill enforce it in next kdelibs release that ill do today.
  13. We do advise smart as the install/update/uninstall manager tool but you can still use the mandriva tools urpmi/rpmdrake. Gnome? As i remember we didnt provide any new gnome packages.
  14. Simply isnt possible for you have libmDNSResponder installed if you did installed avahi, so if you still have libmDNSResponder1you did forced the instalation with --nodeps of force or --replacefiles or --replacepkgs whatever. If you want to uninstall simply also force the uninstall with for example rpm -e --nodeps or urpme --allow-nodeps.
  15. Lets see if i can explain myself, when i first build avahi and installed the existant libkdecore was removed due to not satisfy libmdns.so so due to this all libkdecore dependent/based packages was removed, but this wouldnt happen now since it exists there a new kdelibes release 6 and also for kdebase a release 6 but i see you dont have that kdebase ad this is also my fault since i already have it build but i forgot to upload it, upload it now though. However isnt the fitst time that happens to me forgeting to upload packages and this happens because i have simply to many work on my hands, i usually forst build kde for x86_64 and then build for x86 though. The previous libkdecore releases were requring libmdns.so that is a devel file from libmDNSResponder-devel wich is wrong, but that only happens to the bad mDNSResponder libraries since now with avahi all is as it should be. Dont get how is possible for you still have libmDNSResponder1 installed since is removed with avahi install, so that shows me that you have installed with --nodeps ot just forced installation. In that case dont put these kind of questions/reports, so its natural now you have wat you posted. Still im gg to build a new kdelibs that renforces avahi kdelibs require, since i had a condition that is user uses mandriva inferiror to 2006 would need libmDNSRespoder wich is correct and needed but there is a issue (still dont know if is a issue) because libavahi -compat-libdns_sd still provides libMDNSResponder1 wich exists to be a smooth upgrade to avahi.
  16. Dont you think that was already taken care? When avahi is installed is already removing/obsoleting mDNSResponder else you woudnt be able to install it, it would conflict avahi, so to a smoother install avahi is providing libmDNSResponder. If you want do rpmquery -a|grep mDNSResponder to see if that package exists.
  17. All packages are available, so whats the problem? Devries please do not go to http://rpm.pbone.net/ download packages to mix with MDE packages, please do remember that we do follow Mandriva policy in oposition to some mandriva developers as in consequence some mandriva packages were removed and others created in MDE, so if u go mix mandriva packages with mde packages u will have problems. So please do not advise users to go to http://rpm.pbone.net/ By the way libmDNSResponder will be obsoleted cause is a bad piece of software, due to that libkecore is requiring the devel package libmDNSResponder-devel, so to replace mdns was already created avahi but that will cause that also kde must be all replaced at least what depends on libkdecore, this was already done for x86_64 and now im doing it for x64, if there is any kind of issue please fill free to report me at once :) regards,
  18. All packages were already done but i forgot to upload some, my apologies.
  19. Dont mix MDE with other packages since MDE follow its mandriva correct mandriva packaging policy, remember that even mandriva doesnt follow mandriva packaging policy, so some packages were renamed and obsoleted. I have foud many users reporting problems and wen i go see, i see that there exist MDE ad mandriva versions and releases rpms mixed and then problems come, remember we are allways one step ahed from cooker.
  20. Wrong, all dependencies are available like for example libmusepack that u dont see them in cooker for example, and this is another "must"/advantage to cooker, since we put more options/give more enhacements.
  21. At this moment kde-3.5.2 for x86_64 is done and is being uploaded. The kde-3.5.2 for x86 packages are almost all done, ill start upload the ones i have made and the restant will be finished tomorrow. cheers,
  22. Who said it was hidden? Oh, I've shit my pants now, so scared  Did i wanted to scare anyone? Wich this kind of comments you have just gain support deny from now on to your questions. You need to learn be more polite and have a litle more education. Yes thats one the linus goodies but i asked to not instruct other users to change MDE settings, we had many work, spend many hours doing it, else we wouldnt do any MDE theme. I will not change how icons and walpapers are set, all users can have like they want, but remember if things exist its because theres a reason.
  23. If doing like you said the MDE icon or walpaper will be overwritten and we do not want to give instructions on how to change any thing in MDE, this was all changed in kde source code to prevent this kind of things and also changed the deault names. And the instructions u told will not do what the other guy wants cause one thing is mandriva settings and other is mde settings that are done differently from how madriva does them. Please DONT give more instructions on how to change MDE defaults (even being wrong instrutions), else im forced to reenforce how MDE defaults are set and certanly you dont want that...
  24. Weird, i did put a require exceptions for those lua files...hummm i must see further. Even so you can uninstall liblua-devel with rpm -e --nodeps liblua-devel
