  1. Thanks mmodem! :)

Also, I noticed there appears to be plenty of mention on the net (Google searches) regarding PyQT issues. Mostly appears to be regarding PyQT and HP-Toolbox, however I've also noticed an issue with SuperKaramba/Liquidweather++ and PyQT. PyQT is installed, yet LiquidWeather++ still complains that it is missing. I'm currently trying to look into how I can write a short script in Python to test if the QT bindings are there and to rule out a problem with LiquidWeather itself. Here is what I have so far. I've tried to access the python script in liquid weather++ which I think launches the QT GUI, so far no luck on either distro, but it is worse on Mandriva/MDE due to errors. As a result I cannot access the configuration options in LiquidWeather.

    $ python lwp_config.py

    Traceback (most recent call last):

    File "lwp_config.py", line 11, in ?

    from qt import *

    ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/qt.so: undefined symbol: _ZNK13QWindowsStyle9classNameEv

i Dont know what PyQt you have installed but the one you have installed needs to be rebuild since that is a typical error message showing that was built against some you dont have in your system, but of course only with this info isnt possible to me more accurate.

  2. Would it be possible to provide a later version of Kopete?

Of course like it was done in past (adding a more update kopete version than the one from the branch)

Under existing user I cannot add any new styles.

I created a new Linux User and Kopete still did not allow adding new styles.

On my laptop running Kubuntu w/Kopete 0.12 it works fine but not on my desktop running Mandriva 2006 w/Kopete 0.11 from MDE.

I did a new kdenetwrok release kdenetwork-3.5.4-2.mdk2006.0.mde in wich i put kopete-0.12.1 but in this version still was existing a very annoying bug regarding icq (read http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130630), but i saw today that there is a new kopete-0.12.2 that haves all that resolved and im building it now.

NOTE: first i use to build rpms for x86_64 and then for x86, so maybe tomorrow x86 can be all uploaded :)

    kind regards,

  3. I got all KDE installed with the local custom repository. Thanks. :)

Its a good option to create a local urpm media and install rpms from there however that way you never know where are there updates, and i have already had add updates, new mplayer, new kde, new amarok, etc...

  4. sorry I'm not a “Super Trouper” in Linux and I don't understand very well what's about MDE. I can install a new version of KDE? Or what I have to do? Can you give some more details?

If you enter MDE website you have there all explained (kde install instructions, MDe urpmi repo addition, the support sites), but mandrivausers have disponibilized to MDE a thread where users can put all questions https://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showforum=49

Im one of the MDE developers, you can ask me directly in irc, from freenode servers irc.freenode.net using a irc client or here or also in mandriva club, just enter www.mde.djura.org and read all about.

    regards,

  5. Hello. Since I updated my system when I try to use GNOME as a win manager all menus disappear. No menus, no side bar no buttons. I have on my desktop just Home directory and Trash. No application launcher or something like that :puter:

I dont understand why you want to use gnome when kde is more user-friendly, less buggy, more in many things.

When you report a problem you must also provide detailed info else developers will not be able to help since they dont know what the problem is.

Again about MDE you find latest kde available (kde-3.5.4), thing that mandriva doesnt provide, and more advanced and complete apps.

  6. Thank you very much, it was really helpful for me

Domo arigatou (thank you very much) ;)

have you tried kde MDE stuff?

We never had any arts troubles, there is a sticky topic for MDE (Mandriva Enhanced RPMS) in Software dir, but you can always enter ww.mde.djura.org and check our new kde-3.5.4

    greetings,

  7. Upgraded kde to 3.5.3 today. I have removed any 3.4.2 rpm. Only problem I have found is that when I switch icons using the Mandriva "Configure my Desktop" (kde control center) the window crashes. The icons change, but the "updating system" bar has disappeared and the window stops responding. No other functions are affected except icons. Thoughts?

I have previous told that were there more packages, ut i see that this post is from Jun 16 2006.

Are you still having any problems?

  8. I've tried what you said but the problem remains. In cups web interface there is no paralell port in the list of ports when adding a printer. In kde the local printer radio button is greyed out when adding a printer.

    /HU

There isnt any problem, the option to add a printer through a paralel ot usb port appears greyed when there isnt no printer attached to your machine, this is logical.

If you attach a printer to your machine then the option will appear available.

  9. The icons KMIX ans KRANDRTRAY disappeared of ksystray. I verified in kmxix configuration that all the boxes were checked. So I wonder what happens. Why kmix is not in my systray when launching KDE?

I use kde 3.5.2 from SeerOfSouls site.

If you want that kmix and krandtray be auto started each time you login in kde you just need to run them once, run console and type kmix and run it and do the same for krantray and just run them clicking in the correct entry of kmenu.

  10. Yeah I know but I am on Cooker not 2006 :(

So why are you posting here thats fro only for official releases, yet for what i have speaked with blino isnt he who will fix it, that depends on hal or do a patch for kde, but this suposing you continue using gvm since with ivman i have things working normally

  11. Dont downgrade anything, this is a problem that is afecting all distros, still in cooker wasnt solved, but meanwhile you have 2 options, one is to create an entry in /etc/fstab for the usb storage device so this way is mounted when inserted in wich you have this site http://ldots.org/prodrive/ that explains you all the needed steps and doubts.

The other option is wait that i build the necessary packages for x86 to automount usb devices using another method, this was already fixed in x86_64 but meanwhile i didnt build those packages for x86 since appeared me other problems and i have to do a clean install of mandrica 2006 before proceed.
