i think the button i want to change is called the kicker....maybe, but i want to know how to change the button on the panel

i think this error that i am getting could be due to the fact that i superkaramba .32 b/c it has it has a binary rpm and .33 dosent,

so looks like everything did ok, but now there is no button in the start menu, and when i type superkaramba in terminal it says that it is not found, do i need to restart?

i know i get the same problem, when i try to install 3.3, it says that it conflics with other python files, even when i have uninstalled theother package

wow that is a really good one, ive been looking through the start list (is that what the "kicker" is) and found that under a folder called , Amusement>>Toys>>SK

so i can launch SK from there, but i dont see the default stuff...

anyway i have been downloading some things to go with Karamba, but i am still getting that long error, or they just dont show up, it is a totaly transparent box that you cant see the only way i could find some of them was to right click all over the screen until i got a dif menu, i have also been downloading some icon themes, and i wanted to know haw to change individual icons,

also, this may be a stupid question, but i notice that when i close the terminal, the theme that i am running dies, is there a way to keep it alive w/o the terminal open?

wait, its there but i cant see it, i can right click in this invisible square on my desktop and it gives me a popup window for it

edit, i tried downloading tuxbar, its another theme, and it loaded, so i guess its is something wrong with that theme maybe,

It means that I couldn't load a python add-on for liquid_weather.theme
If this is a regular theme and doesn't use python

if you look down at the bottom there is a link to download all the icons in a tarball.

liquidzoo: i love the sliding console card that slicker has, wish i could get it to work right in gnome (i don't like KDE in the least-hence I don't use slicker). maybe i should look into writing a similar app for gnome...hmmm... (just the console slider type of deal...not a gnome rewrite of slicker).

ok i have downloaded this tar.bz2 file where do i extract its contents to?

i fixed it, i went in as root and added two blank text files it was looking for (list.contrib and list.main) then i did urpmi.removemedia -a and now it works!!!

actually for my linux box......

after trying to use ndiswrapper, PAIN...... and suffering

i decided to go and buy a ethernet card (like one you but an ethernet cable into) and then i bought a wireless ethernet bridge... see Linksys wireless g ethernet bridge

now as far a my computer is concerned, it has a wired connection, but it is really wireless :D

i fixed it, infact i am using my linux right now, when i did that update, it uninstalled kernel source 2.6.3-7 and put 2.6.3-13, why i dont know, but i reinstalled that then i reinstalled the driver, and edited XF86Config-4 again, and i fixed the problem.

however i think i was the cause of the nvidia problem, remember how i did that mandrake update, with the mandrake disk? well this usually happens after i do that, i remember i had to do this many times with cooker....so

hey everyone i think i got it thanks for that quote from the lilo man, i was unable to get to linux to read the lilo man, so i googleized that quote and found that someone on linuxquestions.org had the same problem, and they said they reset their bios to default and it fixed the problem, like Urza suggested, and sure enough, after reseting my bios to default, the problem, was fix, now my Nvidia driver is giving me hell,

so i used vi from the command prompt to edit the XF86Config-4 file to use the generic driver, and now i am in X as root and i am trying to resolve this nvidia problem

i know that i have an American Power Conversion UPS backup battery, so i couldnt immagine it being a power serge (on both computers) how do i restore the MBR and reinstall lilo, through the rescue?
