Mandriva 2010 64bit

I just downloaded the latest wine in repos. The version is 1.1.27.

You'll need 1.1.29 built from source or src rpm, or you could 'try' using a cooker 1.1.29 rpm. Alternatively, you can try using the fix in this bug report comment: bugs.winehq.org/bug#17883-c18

I believe that you need to use the -e option

echo -e "\a"

However that's not the problem, because that doesn't work either.

I'd suggest that you take a look at this revision: revision 347509

That revision may be your problem, but I'm not sure. I would also suggest that you file a bug report on this.

If you have mencoder installed, you can use

midentify infile.mpg | egrep -i 'width|height'

Is that what you need?

Which version of Mandriva are you using? If you're using 2009.1, it sounds like bug# 50139... please read this post for a fix: lost-connection-to-lpt-1-and-printer

I'm assuming that you've downloaded the PCI_Install_5719_0331.zip file from that URL? If you have, I can't find your wireless card driver listed in it.

I've searched the web for you and found several Linux users that are using the 32-bit driver with a 32-bit system, however I can't find anyone who has it working on a 64-bit system. I'm sorry.

This is the same problem with missing signatures on some mirrors that we had with KDE4.3.0. Simply use the

--no-verify-rpm

option with urpmi.

You have not answered my questions. This is the last time I will ask you, are you using Mandriva 32-bit or 64-bit?

If you are using Mandriva 32-bit, you can d/l the Wireless_LAN_Realtek_1674.1.0518.2009.zip file from here: samsung.com/au/consumer/detail/support

Then extract the file and place the WinXP2K directory in a convenient location. That directory contains the net819xp.inf, rtl819xp.sys, and the net819xp.cat files. Now using ndiswrapper load the net819xp.inf file in that directory.

If you're using 64-bit, I can't find you a 64-bit XP inf file to use. So you will have to find one.

That said, you could try downloading the 'India BSNL AC8700 Software for Linux' package from here: ztemt.com.cn/ennewzte/service/ziliao.action

Then try following the instructions here (that were written for Fedora 10, but the kernel is 2.6.29) so it may work for you: reliance-netconnect-broadband-on-linux

I've looked at the ztemtEVDO-1.1-8.i586-fedora9.rpm in the software package, and it 'may' work for you.

The good news is, that if you look at the kernel patch-2.6.31-rc4-git4.log, you will find:

This shows us that it 'could' soon be in the Mandriva kernels > 2.6.31-xx.

I'm using KDM, so this is from memory and may not be accurate. :)

Look in the /usr/share/gdm/themes/your-theme-name/your-theme-name.xml file for the font types and sizes, then edit it with your preferences. Replace your-theme-name with the theme you're using.

There should also be a gui way to do this, but I can't remember.

I'm not sure I understand you. Are you using Mandriva 64-bit? If so, then use ndiswrapper 64-bit and try to find a Windows XP 64-bit driver for your wireless card to use.

The Linux kernels supplied with Mandriva 2009.1 do not have native driver support for your Realtek 8192 wireless chipset. I would suggest that you use ndiswrapper with a Windows XP driver (.inf file) for your card. I don't believe that a 64-bit Vista driver will work properly, if at all.

Are you using 32-bit Mandriva? If you find a Windows XP driver file for your card, and you need help to use it with ndiswrapper, please post here again.

Just update your media sources and install the kernel-desktop-latest instead of the kernel-desktop586-latest. Then you will get kernel-desktop-latest-2.6.29.6-1mnb2 for use with i686 & 4GB RAM installed on your system... unless Mandriva updates the kernel again before you install it. :)

We need some more info, so please open a terminal and post the output of

lspcidrake -v | egrep -i 'network|wireless'

I'll mark this as solved. I'm curious, what is the Kodak model #?

I've received the file and tested it on my Kaffeine 0.8.7. The sound is terrible. I would suggest that you install (if you haven't already) ffmpeg from the plf repos and ffmpeg2theora from the official repos. Then convert the files to ogv format for your Kaffeine media player. Do

ffmpeg2theora 101_0382.mov

and try the 101_0382.ogv in your Kaffeine player. It works for me now. See man ffmpeg2theora for any adjustments you need.

Your mov files are different from mine. It's the audio codec used, I have

ID_AUDIO_CODEC=pcm

and you have

ID_AUDIO_CODEC=ulaw

Could you attach a small mov file from your camera here, or somewhere I could d/l it?

I don't have a 2008.1 system to check this anymore. However I use the same test video files on all installs to set things up and I know that both of those players worked on 2008.1 with mov files. Are you using the kaffeine-engine-xine? Are you using the vlc and vlc-plugins from the plf repo? If you don't already have it installed, could you install mencoder and post the output of

midentify file-name.mov

with file-name being one of your .mov files?

I'm not sure yet what the 'search' problem is, but I've posted a note in the mod forum about it.
