My usbmouse wheel doesn't work rt.

I'm mean rt by, when you're in a split window of any kind, you can't just move to another side and scroll without clicking first.

I've reconfigured the usbmouse several times but it won't fix icon_evil.gif There are no errors in the logs

does anyone know a way to fix this? imwheelrc doesn't say anything about a mouse (I thought that is what it was for????) When I use xev, where it use to say 4 and 5 for the wheel I get this

and I don't know how to correct this. Any clues??? *theYinYeti*???? Where art thou :)

  2. Wow bvc, you are very patient.
I see how you could think that but, I look at it like this. If I didn't download, had money to buy and did, I'd still be waiting on mail delivery. :P Besides you didn't see me pacing the room and giving the modem a pep talk during CD3
  3. I thought AA was default in gnome, but my font's didn't seem to have an improvement til I did the below from this link

    # How do I enable AA fonts in GNOME2

To use AA fonts in GNOME2, the variable GDK_USE_XFT needs to be set to '1'. This needs to be set when you log in to apply it to all your programs. If you use startx then put it in your .xsession. If you use gdm then you can put it into your gdm session.

It's not there now, but the font's still look better.

  4. how long would the .iso's take on 56k? An estimation here.
I just did it.....in my sleep :P ....well mostly. CD1 and 2 are about 35 to 40 hrs each, and CD3 was about 24(I think). This is at 6kb/sec. I finished CD3 today, but installed with CD 1 and 2 two days ago. It was well worth it! I would have them yet if I bought them, and I can't buy them because I haven't found work for 4 mths. I wasn't about to wait til I found a job, and caught up on bills.....9.1 would be out :P
  5. I wonder what gnome 2 looks like, can't wait to figure out

There's no diff. Same, actually less window decor themes. It's the themes that decide the look, and always has. It supposedly has AA for fonts, but I don't see much diff. Fonts in gnome have always looked better than in kde, IMO.

  6. When you go to mcc>MountPoints>?cdrom?>tick Options, click O.K., it then list

    user

    supermount

    noauto

Did you select user, and noauto? and unselect supermount? This is all that's required to turn off supermount.

BTW, I was born in Richmond Indiana, and half my relatives are still there, in Gary, New Castle, and a few other places. I haven't been there for 7 years, but I love to visit! Never been to Valparaiso.

  7. I posted this at MUB, but since we're "open" now.......and in case anyone here doesn't go to MUO.....

O.K., I went from 8.1 to 9.0. I've always used fluxbox or Enlightenment, but since I didn't want E and Fluxbox's not on 9.0 , heh...I'll ckeck gnome2 out. Nice, everythings going great, everything's faster (except oo.org), I go to open nautilus while online and same stinking crap happens that happened in 8.1.......nautilus freezes. So after waiting a while I killed it and went about my business (thinking how dumb their devel team is), and when I log off the net 10 minutes later nautilus opens. I've never heard anyone else mention this sort of prob. I just let it go in 8.1, but after all this time you'd think this would be fixed.

Does anyone know what causes this, or how to stop it. In 8.1 the nautilus version I had, had an option for using to browse or news read or something??? (been a while) but I don't see that anywhere in 9.0. It didn't help in 8.1 either, but 9.0 maybe??? I just found this to be so asburd I have to ask.

  8. You mean the actual program for installing themes doesn't work? Great :(

I'll have to try it. I just got 9.0 going this morning :D

What are you using it for....curiosity?/because you haven't messed with bb yet?

  9. Yea, you'd have to update who knows how many devel pkgs, and it's not worth it IMO. That's why I'm getting 9.0, to mostly install and leave alone with exception of a handful of pkgs and the kernel. I'm tired of dep hell in upgrading pkgs in 8.1

  10. I'm on 8.1, at least a couple more days. Are you trying to install DOlson's rpm's he built for 9.0? If so that's your prob. You need to get the .65 yourself, either a .386, .src.rpm, or the tar. That probably goes for bbtools as well. From what I saw in the google search that libstdc++so.5 all mentioned 9.0. Not that it won't work 8.1, (I dk the deps because I haven't messed with DOlson's rpms). I don't have it on my 8.1 and I install bb.65 with the tar. But I went back to Fluxbox :)
