I'm sure a lot of people have. I don't have the other Max themes of roberTO's, but I figure since I have Max's permission to port anything from him as long as he gets due credit, I will carry it, and if roberTO has a prob with that he can let me know.I'll probably make roberTO's Milk2.1 available as well, since he disappeared 6 months ago and has not returned. That would be great. I lost my copys of the Milk themes.

it had to be done :D
When I'm completely satisfied, I'll put on the blog. For those of you that do not have it, I'll probably make roberTO's Milk2.1 available as well, since he disappeared 6 months ago and has not returned.

so if you have updated your sources, do you get the the packages listed doing the same commands as above?
what happens if you do
urpmi libgtkhtml2_0-devel libgnome-vfs2_0-devel libgail-gnome-devel

post your /etc/urpmi/urpmi.cfg

I made a few wallpapers to go with Rezlooks and Candido Mockup. So, if you like dark desktops, guitars, bees, birds, bugs, or have your own pic to throw in there (gimp xcf available)....enjoy.
-
I have not packaged them yet but I will.
download Rezlooks/Candido Mockup and grahite-dark icons and 5 wallpapers
-
thx iphitus!
that's much cleaner

These are themes, not mockups. This color scheme is based on an old clearlooks cairo 'Mockup' that I can't seem to find the link to anymore. I've made a clearlooks and gflat version but they do not look good because of the bright highlights found in these cairo engines, especially in the button widgets. Rezlooks and Candido only seem to have this problem with vline, hline, and frames. I have not packaged them yet but I will.
The icons are graphite-dark (color mod of graphite). Not packaged, but I've thought about it.

yeah I love it! I finaly got to remove all thought drivers I'll never need and other pkgs, get 40+ mb back that I don't have to download and update. It's about time!

You said it! Heh, ask for help with what no one is doing or cares about? Can I help you build the hot rod? Sure, tighten this screw! :unsure:Pointless really, it should be a contest to improve what tyme said, GTK2, Metacity and KDE themes.I think it's a pity it's asking for bootsplash themes too, bootsplash is dated and mandriva really should replace it with usplash, fbsplash or some other superior equivalent.

Those would be nice as long as they don't end up using the first weird folder icon (revised or whatever....the one laying down).
finally...we can stack panels again. I hated having only one panel, having to use a drawer and the menu, and two (1 top, 1 bottom) isn't the least bit useable. Had to ditch the default sensor icons as well.

It doesn't take much longer than gentoo. I would do it on a weekend. My third install was half done with scripts I wrote to minimize the process. The idea was to finish the scripts and release as an 'easy lfs' but that would have required constant updating and I decided to theme instead of distro build. Besides, most people with the ability to do lfs, are not sane to begin withMy comment was related to the options he considered installing and out of those, Gentoo is the most complicated installation. And... which sane person builds his/her system with LFS again and again and again? All distros have rolled on my systems, so I don't care what the technical name is and what happens on a server as far as roll or freeze. Linux is linux and distros are distros and the one that's good at it now will sooner or later disappoint you. I went to ubuntu after debian unstable bit me twice. The best for me were/are mandriva (mdk) and ubuntu. I ran mandrake from 9.1 to 2005LE upgrading via urpmi/cooker/\release/cooker/\release. Now I have ubuntu from warty-beta to current dapper. I probably won't go devel this time, because I just wanna work, and don't want to deal with anything breaking anymore. There's always that very good chance.
So, of course a clean install is best, especially for those with limited experience, but I haven't done one for almost 2 years
-
nice! Hope Mandriva includes them.

I've never understood why the gui tools were so limited, when rpm from cli had so many more features that would greatly reduce the 'rpm is too limited' wrap. It just means the writing of more scripts and files, yet it's taken years to get any included. I'm sure there's a logical reason, but....After all, that's all apt4rpm was ;)

It was a setting (renderaccel) that was disabled because of a cairo bug that has been fixed for some time now. Disabling it again makes things much slower with any theme, but thanks for picking my brain.Hmm... I remember that you had some similar problems already once with Ubuntu, bvc. And iirc, it was related to your X settings, combined with the cairo-stuff. Maybe again the culprit?BTW: Gnome is very fast on FC5.

Thanks for the offer. To be honest I didn't even bother to email him this time around. He did not respond to my last two emails, so I figure if he has a problem with what I"m doing he can email me. Not much he can say though, since I have Max's permission and the pixmaps are Max's.
Milk Compiz
as roberTo would say....Enjoy!
