  6. after changing to a 19" tft-display i notice how sluggish the linux fonts are compared to fonts in windows. is there a way to change the fonts in linux globally to the fonts that windows uses?
  7. i use mozilla 1.5 and however i configure the sidebar (want it to show bookmarks and history) i doesn't change... is there a way to alternativly do it?

  9. i use moz 1.5 and mozplugger (newest version) when i try to download a .rpm mozilla thinks it is some real-media-file and starts to open the .rpm in a new window... how can i change that?

  11. athlon XP 1800+ geForce4 4200 TI (64 megs) xdsl 1280 kb/s i don't think hardware is the problem...

  13. @ neutro: yes and no. it works (except for stuttering after half the movie is loaded) for embedded quicktime movies - the mplayer plugin starts. but i can't assign mplayer to realplayer files on amazon.com for example... maybe you still have a little patience with a newbie and help me again...
  14. i just can't figure out, how to start eclipse project in mandrake... i unzip the directory and then?
  15. i use mplayer with codecs and plugin for mozilla to watch movies on quicktime.com. however, when around half the movie is played, mplayer starts to stutter. my guess is, that it didn't cache enough in advance, to play the movie properly. but whenever i try to change the cache size of it, it resets back to 8192... i include a picture to show how mplayer looks when playing quicktime movies. it always shows the osd (with wrong data), even when i deactivated it in preferences and after some time the clip starts to stutter (around 1:20 when large). when i start mplayer from k-menu again it show only the small bar that i saw before under the quicktime-clip... i'm using mplayer-1.0-0.pre3.11plf, mplayerplugin-0.80-1mdk and win32-codecs-1.4-2plf
  16. @ neutro: seems you know the trick how to associate file types with mplayer... in my posting http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtopic=11591 i asked how to do this for several browsers... maybe you could tell me how?
  17. can somebody explain to me, how i have to setup the plugins, players, browers and file associations for several browers like konqueror, firefox, opera, mozilla... if thats possible? i mean, i have installed mplayer, xine, realplayer and plugins and codecs for them, but only some files on websites work: i can watch quicktime movies on quicktime com with mplayerplugin, although the video starts to stutter after half the movie is played, but i can't listen to soundclips on amazon for example... thankful for any suggestions and tips...

  21. since i'm completely new to mandrake / linux i'd be grateful, if you'd tell me what to do then...
  22. i'm completely new to linux - thought something new wouldn't hurt for studying... but with all new things it takes some time to get used to it... do you think any further modifications would make firefox work also? see my post in: http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtopic=11497
  23. @neutro & anon: i wasn't complaining about the fonts in firefox - it has beatiful fonts - but about the fonts in mozilla (non-rpm)...
  24. how can i see with how many dpi my mandrake 9.2 is running and how could i change it? when i use mozilla 1.5 and leave the fonts on system settings, some sites look corrupted, meaning a little to large or broad. when i change the dpi setting to 96 everything looks fine. so i guess my system setting is 75 dpi. is it useful to change the rest of linux to 96 or above dpi?
