  4. Hi guys and gals I have 1 Mandrake 9.2 box configured using static ip 192.168.0.2 and a Windows 2k with no Service packs and 1 Windows 2k with Service Pack 3 now i dont have any firewalls installed on the Linux box and i disabled the firewall on the Windows 2k box but no matter what i do i cant seem to ping from linux to windows or visa versa.... oh yeah the windows boxes have static ips 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.3 respectively. The Hardware of the linux box comprises of 256mb Kingston RAM TI 4200 Geforce 4 card onboard network card and a NIC Realtek 8139 which i installed after i thought the onboard nic was not workiing and the motherboard is a Soyo Dragon KT600 Ultra Platinum... I believe the problem is the Linux 9.2 OS coz i installed another HDD in the linux box installed Win2k on it and it all i could see and ping all the other boxes on the network.... i have checked all the config files i could think of like /etc/host host.allow host.deny /etc/sysconfig/network /etc/sysconfig/networking-scripts/ifconfig-eth0 and eth1 dont know where else to look .... can some please helppppppppppp sorry for the long message ppls oh yeah i did i tcpdump on eth0 and eth1 and all i am getting back is arp who-has 192.168.0.1 tell mailbox and nothing else GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...!! i get a DESTINATION UNREACHABLE from ping 192.168.0.1 or 3 from linux
