The ting is that I am trying to change the location of mysql's datadir but I don't know how to do this ??? Can anyone help me with this ???? Siddus

Help .... I have been trying to find the file my.cnf on my Mandrake 10 Powerpack-installation, but I don't seem to be able to find it ??? Does anyone know where it is located, MySQL is installed in it's default directory .. Siddus

I don't think you understand my problem ... Mandrake has lost the installed DVD-rom and therefore it cant reed the discs from that device ... I don't have a CD-rom installed, only the DVD-player .. That is why I need help. how do I get Mandrake to find and install the dvd-player again ????? Siddus Linux-Newbie

Hi, I have a strange problem on my Mandrake 10 PowerPack .. When I first installed it, everything worked just fine, but now it seems that it has lost my dvd-player (a Lite-On) which it had no problems with before. Everytime I try top make any adjustments of the system and it wants me to put in one of the install-cd's, Mandrake don't seem to be able to locate the discs and keeps asking me too put the disk in my cd-rom ???? It seems that somewhere on the way, Mandrake has lost my DVD-Player and don't seem to be able to mount it again ?? How do I fix this problem ???? Siddus Linux-Newbie

I am wondering if apt4rpm works with Mandrake 9.1 or 9.2 ??? If so, then it would be a great feature to use fore updates since apt has a smarter way to handle dependencies than using rpm's, at least for someone like me who is a total newbie regarding linux. Siddus
