  1. I'm trying to configure lm-sensors on my nForce-box, I know the modules I need, but..............

    I can't remember which config-file to edit to load the appropiate modules at boot-time :screwy:

    I've searching and I can't remember :wall: please excuse my very dumb question, but my memory is blocked :cheeky:

  2. I'm running ML 10.1 cooker on an PII 400@500 Mhz with 512 Mb Ram installed and ML 10.0 CE (with most recent Update packages) on a AMD 2700+@2300 Mhz with 512 Mb Ram installed. B)

    The difference in speed when booting is not that great, the most difference I notice is when starting up Apps.

  3. thxs, just the package overnet was enough, I'm trying to find a good filesharing-app. I'm used to DC++ under XP. And someone already gave me a tip about overnet, but I couldn't find it unitill now.

  4. Ok, thxs sofar. I still have probs.

    I've setup my network now, from my XP-box I can see my Linux-box and I can browse, read and change in the shares I've setup, sofar no prob.......

    From my Linux-box I can ping my XP-box, I can make a connection to it using smbclient from the commandline and browse it, make dirs, remove dirs and so on. I can see my XP-box using either smb4k or xsmbrowser, but when trying to acces it it says unable to find computer. :wall:

    Please give me some advise, it is more important to me to see and browse my XP-box from my Linux-box than the other way around (although it would be nice to do both). :help:

  5. There's no need in reinstalling ML. I assume you can't get any further than a prompt.

    Here you con type (as "su" or "root") drakconf, with this tool you can restore to the original setting and go into GUI again.

  6. Hi to you all.

    I've been searching the internet for more than a week now to find the solution for my prob.

    First I'll tell you what I have in mind. I'm trying to connect my two workstations via my Zyxell adslrouter to eachother.

    I've made a simple smb.conf:

    [global]

        workgroup = MATRIX

        security = share

        printable = no

        read only = no

    [homes]

        browseable = no

        writeable = yes

    [lib]

        path = /lib

        writeable = yes

        browseable = yes

    [public]

        path = /home/enne/shared

        writeable = yes

        browseable = yes

        printable = no

    When on my XP-box, I can see my Linux-box but I cannot browse it, When on my Linux-box I can make a connection using smbclient ***.***.***.*** .... but when I try to make a Samba-mountpoint in MCC I cannot see my XP-box. :wall:

    Maybe you guys can take a short look at my smb.conf and give some hints. :help:

    Thx so much in advance

  7. After installing ML you get a screen with the overview of the installation, in there I set up my network again and fill in the appropiate hostname (s).

    After changing smb.conf, Trinity (XP & ML 10.0 CE) and Morpheus (ML 10.0 CE) are recognized in Matrix (my network).

    :P

  8. I'm trying to switch to ML completely on my main box, but I'm looking for Linux-alternatives of Windows-apps.

    For instance, I'm looking for a good cdcover-designer, under XP I used to make my covers in Nero.

    Maybe you guys have some good links where to find Linux-apps.

    Thxs

  9. Funny thing is, I checked /etc/sysconfig/network and my hostname was already there! At boot there was a message like "setting hostname to: trinity.com. But when it was completely booted it would still give the standard hostname.

    After editing /etc/rc.d/rc.local my prob was solved, dunno why!

  10. It works perfectly for me, all my hardware is recognized out of the box (including USB-printer, USB-Camera and Memorystick).

    As for browsing-speed, I work with Opera and I did'nt notice any differences. B)

    I only encountered some minor probs, with XMMS (it does'nt play with soundwrapper) and with setting my fancy hostname.

    I'm very enthousiastic about the improved speed and offcourse about the looks!

    Go Mandy, Go Mandy :headbang:
