  1. Cheers, I tried to compile the kernel, and did get opengl working ok. Unfortunately that contrived to break everything else - sound, net, breaks on shutdown! So have given up and am trying different distro. Ah well.
  2. I have just tried to do some stuff with the firegl driver as another site seemed to recommend it, however when I run ./make_install.sh this happens: [root@onslo fglrx]# ./make_install.sh *** WARNING *** Tailored kernel module for fglrx not present in your system. You must go to /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod subdir and execute './make.sh' to build a fully customed kernel module. Afterwards go to /lib/modules/fglrx and run './make_install.sh' in order to install the module into your kernel's module repository. (see readme.txt for more details.) As of now you can still run your XServer in 2D, but hardware acclerated OpenGL will not work and 2D graphics will lack performance. So I tried to run ./make.sh in build_mod but i get: [root@onslo build_mod]# ./make.sh ATI module generator V 2.0 ========================== initializing... kernel includes at /lib/modules/2.4.22-10mdk/build/include not found or incomplete file: /lib/modules/2.4.22-10mdk/build/include/linux/version.h Does anyone know what version.h does, and how I can add it if I need it?
  3. Hi all, first post as I am new to Mandrake. Just got myself 9.2 and everything is up and running fine except my video card. I've got a Radeon 9700 (Pro?) but I'm having to use software for opengl at the moment. I tried to install the drivers for XFree86 4.3.0 from the ati website but had errors. Now if i try to rpm them again i get: package fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-3.2.8 is already installed file /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.2 from install of fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-3.2.8 conflicts with file from package libxfree86-4.3-23mdk I think the following from my XF86-Config-4 file should have the firegl driver in somewhere: Section "Device" Identifier "device1" VendorName "ATI" BoardName "ATI Radeon (fglrx)" Driver "radeon" Screen 0 BusID "PCI:1:0:0" Option "DPMS" EndSection Does anyone have any ideas? Help is much appreciated as I kinda need opengl for some work fairly soon and I don't know if I can be bothered to install another distro. Cheers.
