  4. thanks for the helping start. I did the modprobe like you said and here is the output: root@localhost user1]# modprobe prism2_pci /lib/modules/2.4.21-0.13mdkenterprise/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/ds.o.gz: init_module: Operation not permitted Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters. You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg modprobe: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.21-0.13mdkenterprise/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/ds.o.gz failed modprobe: insmod prism2_pci failed [root@localhost user1
  5. when using uname -r it found this: 2.4.21 - 0.13mdkenterprise when I tried /sbin/lspci it didn't recongnize the command
  6. hello all, this is my first post here. I am currently enrolled in a 14 week red hat 9 course at school so I am very new to linux. I just finished installing mandrake 9.1 on my home system so I can get a taste of another distro and become more versatile. I would eventually once I have gained enough experience switch to linux entirely. My only prob after installing mandrake is that I can't get connected to the net. I think it may be a driver issue. This is the nic card I'm running: Linksys wireless PCI card model number: WMP11 2.4ghz card running 802.11b any help in pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys. Mark
