i have mandriva 2007.1 i used to have virtualbox V 1.3 which came with the distro dvd now i downloaded and installed the newest version 1.5 after uninstalling the previous version when i started it came up with the older version of windows which was installed and showing the virtual hard disk i made for the previous install windows failed to run... i deleted that version and deleted the virtual hard disk and made new but still cant load and i have the following message Unknown error initializing kernel driver (VERR_VM_DRIVER_VERSION_MISMATCH). VBox status code: -1912 (VERR_VM_DRIVER_VERSION_MISMATCH). Result Code: 0x80004005 Component: Console Interface: IConsole {1dea5c4b-0753-4193-b909-22330f64ec45} anyone?? dear lex...after the sound problem was solved and sound worked great suddenly i lost it again!!! after a reboot it came back but now again reboot doesnt change anything...the sound drivers are busy and couldnt be launched how can i add those 3 lines u told about??? cant add them to console!!! sorry for bothering

[im on Gnome.... what is hald???(sorry im new) and yes i have ntfs 3g installed and im using the windows partition on my machine and on the networks im on very normally how can i check if everything is installed ok or nothing is missing?? thx

im on mandriva 2007.1 spring edetion i got an external hard disk with USB connection its detected by the MCC (Mandriva Control Center) but its not detected by file browser when i tried other usb hard disks they used to show up with an icon on the desk top directly... but this one i cant find it anywhere in the MCC in hardware page this is what shows the following Identification Vendor: ?Super Top Description: ?USB 2.0 IDE DEVICE Disk identifier: ??????????? i have a dual boot of MDK 2007.1 and windows XP i can access the windows files from linux and copy any of them to my linux folders normally but i cant copy any files from linux to windows folder...even as a root!!! and i cant change permissions for folders even when im logged in as root also when i attached usb external hard disk i could read all the files and copy them but could not copy or modify anything in that hard disk or copy anything into it even when i was a root how can i change that? [moved from Software by spinynorman - welcome aboard :)]

when i log in i get this message Sound server informational message: Error while initializing the sound driver: device: default can't be opened for playback (Device or resource busy) The sound server will continue, using the null output device. and my device gets mute it happened b4 but was resolved by itself after a couple of restarts.... now it doesnt can anyone help plz btw...im using MDK 2007.1 spring edetion im on LG laptop model LS70 EXPRESS thank you
