  1. I like using XWC when I'm not using the command line for file management.
  2. I'm far from being an expert on the subject, but I do use WM as my default window manager. From all indications, the problems with the menus seem to be a lack of proper setup time on the part of the Mandrake team. I use ALT Linux Junior and their development team have put a little more effort into the setup of WM. However, being a dedicated WM user, most of my menu settings have been done manually, on my own. This is probably what you should do to ensure proper links to applications that exist on your PC. From what I know about WM, there is no automatic menu setup (or wizard) for it, like KDE has (at least I've never found one yet). It isn't all that difficult to do, it just takes you some time. It's certainly allot easier than adding something to the IceWM menus, that's for sure.
  3. Not sure if the version I'm running (1.2.7) is exactly the same... but to set my home page I simply click on Settings -> Preferences -> General then at the top of the window there's a button that's labeled, 'Set To Current Page'. Clicking on this sets the page currently displayed in my browser to my homepage.
  4. Hey, glad I could help you out, Chris. I'm always in search of the easiest way to get things done. Guess that's what lead me to Linux  I'll have to give the Gimp plugin a try sometime, Michel. Thanks for the info.!
  5. Yup, you bet. The thing about using OOWriter is that you have all the functionality of the word processor at your disposal, and the software is most likely already installed on your PC. Be sure to check out the templates for OODraw. There are many more CD/DVD templates under that heading as well.
  6. I use Open Office Writer to make my CD covers and labels. You can find some helpful templates at: http://ooextras.sourceforge.net/downloads/english/ It takes a bit more time to design the artwork, but it certainly gives you allot of control over your finished product.
