  1. I made it in the end! I followed the instructions http://symbolik.wordpress.com/2007/05/21/j...iva-2007-linux/ Great! Thanks
  2. Thanks! plf-free was not there. Somehow yesterday when I used easy urpmi it was not added. I now added it and I found it. Thanks!
  3. Hi, I am tryng to install k9copy using urpmi. I think I have setup correctely the PLF repository but still doing: urpmi k9copy Gives me no package found. Any idea? Is there a command line way to check where urpmi is going to get the RPMs from? Thanks
  4. I noticed I have the same problem. If I click on the link it does not open but works if I run it manually (kaddressbook). Did you manage to solve the problem? Thanks!
  5. I am actually almost there I think. I installed the package kde-i18n-ja and now Japanese is one language I can add within control center. The only problem is that the fonts are not displayed correctly in Control Center when Japanese is selected as the main language. Hopefully a reboot will help.
  6. I may wait a bit, probably till the next major upgrade or my next PC. Thanks!
  7. Thanks! Xinetd was not installed, I have installed, then started it and then Hotwayd works! Many thanks again!
  8. I installed locales-ja now and looks like scim (the input program) works but still under the languages I cannot see Japanese. Do you think the only way is the free CD? My problem with that is that I got an old NVidia video card. Thanks!

  10. chkconfig --list | grep hot And nothing comes out. Looks like the service is not started. And also when I start it manually nothing listens on port 110 :( Any idea of where the logs are if any? Many thanks!
  11. netstat -tunlp | grep 110 Gives me nothing :( But when I run hotwayd +OK POP3 hotwayd v0.8 -> The POP3-HTTPMail Gateway. Server on localhost active. And ls -la /etc/xinetd.d/ total 24 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 May 18 19:10 ./ drwxr-xr-x 95 root root 4096 May 23 23:01 ../ -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 211 Apr 21 22:46 ftp -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 225 Apr 23 2005 hotwayd -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 228 May 17 23:14 hotwayd.rpmsave -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 317 Nov 7 2006 rsync Any logs I should check?
  12. Hi, I have installed hotwayd 8.2 on Mandriva 2007.1 and it does not work. On 2007.0 worked first shot. Now when I try telnet 127.0.0.1 110 I get no reply. I noticed that hotwayd is not showing in my services so I tried starting it manually but still when I do telnet 127.0.0.1 110 I get no reply. Any ideas? Thanks!
  13. Thanks, I have installed all the packages that match japan in their description and the fonts come up. I can display Japanese characters but when I then try to go in and add a new language using the KDE control center there is still no Japanese in the list :( To clarify I am looking to be able to enter japanese text and to have all the menus in Japanese. Am I missing something? Thanks
  14. Hi, 2007.0 comes with Japanese support but I could not find a download for 2007.1 with Japanese support. Anyone any ideas? Thanks
  15. Hi, I installed from the desktop Mandriva One KDE. The only problem I have is that the network wizard pops up every time I login and I need to reconfigure my ethernet card. Any ideas? Thanks!
